Pesach is in two weeks!
- The time to sell your chametz is NOW! Don't push it off. The sale does not go into effect until Pesach so no need to worry if you have not finished cleaning your home yet. Just plan to put away whatever chametz you want to keep until after Pesach and all of your chametz dishes, pots and pans in a special location. www.chabaduptown.org/chametz
- We have published the shul schedule on our website. The schedule is a little different this year with the first seder observed on Sat. night. Check it out at www.chabaduptown.org/pesachshedule.
Extra Minyanim this weekend!
- Tomorrow we will have a yartzeit minyan at 6:45 am observed by Andrew Goldstein followed by breakfast on the plaza. Can we ccount on you at 6:45 am?
- Sunday is Rosh Chodesh! Join us for our monthly Rosh Chodesh minyan at 8:30 am, followed by breakfast on the plaza.
There is a lot going on this Shabbos!
- Chazak! - We conclude the book of Shemos with the reading of the final combined portion of Vayakhel-Pekudei.
- Parshas Hachodesh - A special Torah reading called "Hachodesh" (Exodus 12:1-20) is added to the regular Shabbat Torah reading. Hachodesh recounts G-d's historic communication to Moses in Egypt on the 1st of Nissan (2 weeks before the Exodus) regarding the Jewish calendar, the month of Nissan and the Passover offering. - Shabbos Mevarchim Nissan - A special prayer is recited blessing the Rosh Chodesh of the upcoming month of Nisan, which occurs Sunday.
PARSHA: Window or Mirror
The mirror does not completely obstruct the light, as do other objects. Instead, it reflects the light that shines upon it. It symbolizes how the creation itself can reflect and express the Divine light. more…
