Nine Days

Friday, 13 July, 2018 - 1:09 pm

Today, Rosh Chodesh Av, begins "The Nine Days" of mourning for the destruction of Temple begin. There are many customs associated with these days, that can be read in our online calendar here and more elaborately here.

It is customary to hear a Siyum, a completion ceremony of Talmud, during these nine days to increase in the study of Torah, transforming these dark days to light. If you can't make one in person, we will be broadcasting a live Siyum daily on our website at www.chabaduptown.org/siyum. The first siyum will be today, Friday, at 1:45 pm Houston time. You can see the full broadcast schedule on the siyum page as well.
