The Winds of Elul are Blowing

Friday, 18 August, 2017 - 10:58 am

"Though summer still lingered and the day was bright and sunny, there was a change in the air. One smelled already the Elul-scent; a teshuvah-wind was blowing. Everyone grew more serious, more thoughtful... All awaited the call of the shofar, the first blast that would announce the opening of the gates of the month of mercy...." More...

This past Sunday- Monday, 26 of 42 families at the #Texas Shluchim Farbrengen, men, women & children, operating 30 Chabad branches, gathered today in Houston for 24 hours of sharing.

The Cteen Houston Leaders of Uptown had a great meeting getting ready for a fantastic year with CTeenHouston! Kick off event details coming soon! Of course, the unofficial Chabad of Uptown mascot, Menucha, was on hand giving her input and cheering everyone on as well.

Call for volunteers! We would like to empty out the downstairs storage area and relocated the items to the upstairs storage and kitchen cabinets, so we can prepare the room for a playroom for the kids. If you would like to participate in this $10,000 effort so it can be ready in time for Rosh Hashana, please consider a generous donation at www.chabaduptown.org/donate. Menucha and all her friends will personally thank you!

Condolences to Guitel Melnik on the passing of her grandmother in Chile. May her memory be for a blessing.
