Our hearts and minds have been occupied with the events in Israel, Orlando, Dallas, Nice - it seems to never end!
Our country and our world are reeling. Every day brings a new level of madness.
During his televised addresses, the Rebbe would tackle, with incredible urgency, the issues of social cohesion, law enforcement, and the connections between education and crime.
Words like “this world seems to be a jungle,” “every day seems worse than the day before,” “conflict in our society is rising to alarming levels” – if they didn’t resonate with someone at the time, they certainly should today.
The good news is that the Rebbe didn’t wallow in problems. He offered comprehensive, practical solutions.
One short video post won’t be enough to share the Rebbe’s entire vision, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t share something. In this clip, the Rebbe speaks about the connection between education and horrific violence.
We had a whirlwind trip with abundance of inspiration, observing the Yartzeit of the Rebbe followed by a conference for the growing number Shluchim involved with the unique demographic of young jewish professionals.
On that note, at this Wednesday's YJP weekly dinner, class & social we will discuss "Privacy".
Your neighbors have a broad window in the front of their home, giving you a great view of what’s going on inside. Are you allowed to look inside and see what’s happening? If you think not, what if they don’t care? Explore the halachic take on privacy and discover a surprising life lesson along the way.
Also, YJP Houston is putting on it's annual White Party for Tu B'Av on Aug. 18 and the advance tickets are expiring today! Buy them now, before they go up!
The Chabad family extends sincere condolences to Marc (& Ellen Ann) Sands on the passing of his father, Jack M. Sands. Funeral was held in New Orleans and shiva is observed until Sunday morning.
