This Shabbos marks an important date on the Chabad & modern Jewish world's calendar, Gimmel Tammuz, the Yom Hahilula (Yartzeit) of our beloved Rebbe זי"ע. The Rebbe's impact on this generation only continues to radiate and snowball, influencing Jewish life, learning and culture in every facet and corner of Jewish life. As we learned in last week's Thursday Tanyalesson, "'He has left life unto all the living.'... his ruach remains truly in our midst... magnified and sanctified when we walk in the right way that he has shown us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths forevermore." May we succeed in doing so, bringing about the completion of our life's work, with the immediate redemption, NOW!
It is customary on this day for charity to be given to causes associated with the Rebbe, of sainted memory. Donations should be made on behalf of oneself and on behalf of each member of one's family. Of course, one great cause to give to, (before or after Shabbos - see times below), is Chabad of Uptown, thus becoming a partner in the Rebbe's work that he has left to us to fulfill.www.chabaduptown.org/donate
We are joining many thousands of people from across the globe who will be visiting the Rebbe's grave for prayer on this auspicious day, as is customary when we commemorate the Yartzeit of a righteous person. (All Shabbos programming will carry on as usual - see below).
It would be an honor and pleasure to pray for you (and your family), as well, at the Rebbe's "Ohel." Please e-mail us your name and your mother's name (preferably the Hebrew or Yiddish names), and those of anyone else you would like us to mention, we would be glad to have them in mind as well. If there's a specific need you would like us to pray for, please mention it as well.
May all our prayers be fulfilled and may we merit to change our lives and the entire world through adding just one more mitzvah at a time.
Join us for this week's YJP dinner class & social on Miracles.
When we look back at rough times and see how things turned out for the best, we become aware of the miracles in our lives. But perhaps the greatest miracles are the ones we are not even aware of. When we keep in mind the work G-d is doing for us, we can truly be at ease.
