Hungry yet?

Friday, 3 April, 2015 - 12:33 pm

pack lunch exodus matzah.jpg"All who are hungry let them come and eat"!

We are after the kiddush, washed our hands, dipped the Karpas, broke the matzah and are now ready for the fifth step of the seder.... Now we invite?!

Actually, many Chassidic teachings point this out and explain that the invitations have long been done and all those participating are already here. What we are doing is inviting ourselves. We are all strangers to what we know is right and all have room to improve. We are all hungry for the spiritual sustenance we lack, and starve for the loving invitation. Our bodies are here at the seder table, but our minds may be sailing off somewhere else. Our stomachs may be ingesting the seder fare but our souls may be held shackle to the internal inhibitions.

So we declare, to ourselves, "All who are hungry, let them come and eat!" May this year be a seder that sustains the soul, not just the body!

Thank you to all who came to help prepare for Pesach! Namely, Naomi Bier, Sara Comis, Imanuel Fayn, Rachel Graff, Talya Paeglis, Michael Stoll!

The Chabad community extends our sincere condolences to Karen Nudelman on the passing of her grandmother in Israel.
