Impossible to get anyone's attention anymore

Thursday, 20 February, 2014 - 11:47 pm

I made a confession a while back, and recall it now once again as our Thursday evening class has also completed the first section of the Tanya, Likkutei Amarim! Baruch Shehechiyanu, Vikeemanu V'heegiyanu Lazman Hazeh! Join us next week as we begin section two, the Book of Unity & Faith, Shaar Hayichud V'ha'eumah! We have two options every Thursday at noon and 8 pm for studying this monumental work of the Alter Rebbe, Rabbi Shneur Zalman of Liadi.

We have tested and tasted the winning chili, and look forward to winning the official bragging rights on Sunday March 2. We need some more volunteers to join our team to help cook and serve the best chili this side of the Mississippi! Let us know.

As the world speeds up, it's impossible to get people's attention anymore. Once upon a time, you sent mail for a secure response to your notice and message. Once the world was introduced with technology of (this order of) phones, beepers, faxes, emails, AOL, AIM, SMS, Myspace (remember that?!), BBM, Facebook, Twitter, Vine, Whatsapp and the list goes on, no one can pay attention to any source of information. Their solution? Let go of it all and back to the lonely social bubble called the stone age.

Even in emails, it is a miracle you got this far in my rant! First it was text only emails since internet speeds could not handle big downloads. Then, to get noticed, you needed fancy graphic emails. Then, those are all spam - so it is back to plain text. Even this is now archaic. How to get your attention?! So we still spend time and money sending out physical mailers in your mailbox. You should get a mailer this weekend for Purim with Chabad of Uptown... PAY ATTENTION!! :) If you don't get our mail, please let us know your physical mailing address so we can add you to our mailing list.
