This Shabbos we read of the building of the first Sanctuary, the Mishkan. Plans are well underway for the building of our new shul! When Moshe Rabbeinu solicited the Jewish people, they were so eager to get involved that they overwhelmed the coffers with donations to the point that they had to be asked to stop. Admittedly that was the first and last capital campaign to see that happen! But, you can (eagerly) get involved too in the Chabad of Uptown Capital campaign! Shoot us an email or donate here!

It was a portable sanctuary, a spiritual center in the desert. It was the place for sacrifices . . .
The Torah describes two acts of creation: G‑d’s creation of the universe, and the Israelites’ creation of the Mikdash or Mishkan, the sanctuary that traveled with them in the desert, the prototype of the Temple in Jerusalem. The connection between them is not incidental.
