Women's Dessert & Night Out! (and some other glorious stuff)

Friday, 7 September, 2012 - 1:01 am

Labor day is truly a gloriously laborious day. Especially when you spend the entire day roasting in the sun at Kemah Boardwalk with the kids. The most liberating moment was the Starbucks iced spring water to cool down from the scorching hot day.

  • Please, please, please RSVP so we can prepare accordingly for Rosh Hashana. www.chabaduptown.org/services. Thank you to all those that helped us create our viral Shofar campaign video. The original Facebook still image is also featured as the cover story for the Jewish Herald Voice Rosh Hashana magazine... So the ripple effect continues... My silliness is all worth it if only one more Jew is inspired to hear the Shofar this Rosh Hashana.
  • This Shabbos is Holy Happy Hour, the September "First Fridays" for Young Professionals! See who else is coming here. Don't miss out!
  • Last chance to join the TDS Auction for prepaid tickets with a drawing this Sunday! Check it out at www.tdshouston.org/auction.
  • Monday at 8 pm is women's night out at the Women's Dessert & Discussion with Chanie in preparation for the High Holy Days!
  • I always say, if the Chinese would only know that Jewish people eat more Chinese than the Chinese, all their restaurants would be kosher! The jury is out if it was the sumptuous sesame chicken by Chanie, flowing Dos Equis or the class on Creation & Evolution by Rabbi Chaim that made the Wednesday evening class for young professionals another resounding success. Next week's topic will prepare us for the time spent praying during the Jewish New Year. Class is Prayer: Does He really hear me? with Baked Ziti dinner sponsored by Karen Nudelman in honor of her late grandmother's birthday
  • Thursdays classes and deep discussions on the meaning of life over Tanya are something special. Come join the magic at two convenient times, 12 noon over optional lunch or 8 pm as you wind down your day!
  • Here is a thought culled from this weeks parsha:

How to Grow a Relationship

Relationships can be said to progress along a path of four stages: proclamation, selection, glory and unification.
