This Shabbos, is a unique one. Not only will we bless the new month of Tammuz, it is also the Shabbos before Gimmel Tammuz, the 18th anniversary of the Rebbe's passing. Learn more at www.chabaduptown.org/3tammuz
Thousands will visit the Rebbe's resting place (called “the Ohel”) over next weekend. We will be in New York as well, joining many thousands of people from across the globe who will be visiting on this auspicious day, as is customary when we commemorate the Yartzeit of a righteous person. (Don't worry, Rabbi & Mrs. Dovid Goldstein will lead a special Shabbat at Chabad of Uptown while we are away).
It would be an honor and pleasure to pray for you (and your family), as well, at the Rebbe's "Ohel." Please e-mail your name and your mother's name (preferably the Hebrew or Yiddish names), and those of anyone else you would like me to mention, I would be glad to have them in mind as well. If there's a specific need you would like me to pray for, please mention it as well. May all our prayers be fulfilled.
A unique opportunity is also available to spend a weekend near the Ohel with many others from a diverse and international crowd. A packed program with top notch accommodations has been developed just for you. Check it out and RSVP at www.nyshabbos.com.
An extra bonus for this trip is the wedding of Chanie's sister Mushkie to Rabbi Yossi Bendet of S Paul, MN. They are getting married at the same location of 770 and the reception will be in the same banquet hall that we got married in... We, and especially the kids, are truly looking forward to spending a wonderful family simcha together with the extended Galperin family.
Our win and video was featured on the front page of the week's JHV. "Rabbi Chaim Lazaroff, himself a TDS alumnus, helped write the storyline and produce the video. “This was a great opportunity to promote Torah Day School’s stellar education, both Jewish and secular studies, showing how the school gives its students the tools to succeed at becoming whatever they want to be,” Rabbi Lazaroff said..."
