What a whirwind of a week!
- Just sent half million Safeway / Randalls Jewish calendars to print to be distributed nationally in their 1,521 stores. I had the opportunity to proofread the Judaic content for the calendars. - A secret uptown admirer has nominated us a "Jewish Hero"! In a matter of three days we have climbedt to 62 votes short of being #1 on the national contest to win $25,000! - I help coordinate and participated on a conference call with Gov. Perry this morning. He is in Israel and we talked about his corporate partnership building he is building between Texas, our State Universities and Israel.
- We are having guests! Rabbi Yossi and Manya Lazaroff of Chabad @ Texas A&M will be joining us for Shabbos!
- Our first of four classes for Young Professionals went well! This week join us for "Heaven, Hell and the Afterlife" what do Jews believe? why does it matter? Join the event for young adults and professionals on Facebook.
- Thursday's lunch and evening class this coming Thursday: The Jewish Kings. We’ll examine the original Torah commandmentn for Kings, analyze the Talmudic discussion surrounding it, and see how the Rambam codifies it in Jewish Law. We will also look Shmuel’s response in light of Chassidic teachings. Finally, we will see how we can make the spiritual concepts of Kingship and Monarchy relevant to our daily lives.

Sermon: The Great Argument of Jewish History The argument has been going on for millennia. Should we segregate ourselves and retain our distinct identity or should we integrate and become part of the modern conversation? Our we called to be particularists or universalists? Three words in the Talmud concerning a verse in this week’s portion, Reah, capture the untold story of Judaism.
