why ask why? - (YJP Tu B'shevat Dinner tonight)

Wednesday, 12 February, 2025 - 9:39 am

Have you ever wondered why we do what we do as Jews?

Why do we sway when we pray? Why do we say l'chaim? Why are the Jews called the "chosen people"?

The Jewish Course of Why is your opportunity to ask and explore these questions—and so many more. This 4-week journey will uncover the depth, meaning, and relevance behind Jewish practices, beliefs, and traditions, showing how they enrich our daily lives.

Each week, we’ll tackle a series of fascinating “whys” with thought-provoking discussions, practical insights, and a fresh perspective on timeless questions.

Whether you’ve been curious for years or are just now seeking answers, this course is for you.

Course starts tonight! Sign up today to secure your spot—this is a series you won’t want to miss. www.yjphouston.org/why

Plus, when you participate, you'll earn a $200 credit for one of our CYP trips, such as May7-11 trip to Antigua, Guatemala!

Dinner will be served before each session, so come hungry for food and knowledge!

Tonight's class kick off the course with Tu B'Shevat dinner at 7:30 pm featuring Tu B'Shevat inspired with Silan Chicken, Za'atar smashed sweet potatoes, Cherry rice & Tu B'shvat salad!

If you have questions, reach out anytime.

Looking forward to learning and exploring together,

Rabbi Chaim Lazaroff
