Building Jewish Sanctuaries - of Love

Friday, 24 February, 2023 - 11:15 am

“They shall make for Me a sanctuary, and I will dwell among them.”

This is what G‑d told Moses regarding the construction of the Mishkan, the traveling sanctuary the Jews built after leaving Egypt. G‑d was telling them that by creating this structure, they would bring G‑dliness into every aspect of their lives, beyond the actual building.

This continues to be the purpose of a synagogue today. The size of the building doesn’t matter, but its existence has a tremendous impact on the entire community, even those who don’t regularly attend.

Our own homes as well, are a "Mikdash Me'at", a little house of holiness. By creating a Jewish atmosphere, each of us can transform our homes into a mini-Temple: a place where we serve Hashem, and where the divine presence can reside.

The first steps to doing so, is to engage those beginning the objective of setting up a Jewish home and learn what Jewish dating is all about according to the Torah ideas. This week we completed the CYP Academy Jewish Dating Course by JLI. Participants are now much more informed on what G-d has to say building a sanctuary of engaging love, relationships, marriage, and building an everlasting life together.

We would like to thank all our partners and monthly Chai donors who help keep the Shul, our collective sanctuary, and programming for current and future mini-sanctuaries funded and working year round!

By allowing G‑dliness into our lives, we are assured that G‑d Himself will dwell among us, in all aspects of our lives.

Shabbat Shalom,

Rabbi Chaim & Chanie
