May you have a day of love, the day of Tu B'av! Because of the joyous events which occurred on this day, our sages regarded the 15th of Av to be one of the two most auspicious days on the Jewish calendar (the other being Yom Kippur--Talmud, Taanit 26b). We were in Chattanooga this morning. For real. It is unreal that the events there today began to unfold as we were leaving town. Our hearts and prayers are with the families of the marines who lost their lives in a senseless attack. The prayers that we recited their overnight should provide the spiritual uplifting they all need.
