Beautiful Sedarim were held serving up matzah, wine, and seder delicacies for over 70 the first night between downstairs and upstairs and 40 the second night! That you to all the participants for making it so meaningful!

The kids are thoroughly enjoying spending the Yom Tov with their Wolf cousins. Today's adventures included a fantastic (mind splitting) day at Kemah Boardwalk!

The last day of Passover ("Acharon Shel Pesach") is particularly associated with Moshiach and the future redemption. The Haftarah (reading from the Prophets) for this day is from Isaiah 11, which describes the promised future era of universal peace and divine perfection. Rabbi Israel Baal Shem Tov instituted the custom of partaking of a "Moshiach's meal" on the afternoon of the last day of Passover; in addition to the matzah eaten at "Moshiach's meal", the Rebbes of Chabad added the custom of drinking four cups of wine, as in the seder held on Passover's first days.

Pesach is upon us! The first Seder is completely full... Many thanks to all of the volunteers who have helped prepare, Naomi Bier, Karen Nudelman, Kaspit Gavish, Ben Hadden, Alyah Rudoff, Ady Fisberg, Sabra Martin!

THE NUMBERS ARE IN! 100 lbs of chicken, 16 briskets, 75 lbs onions, 60 dozen eggs, 38 lbs shmurah matzah, 8 cases wine, 6 cases grape juice and cases and cases of other Pesach goodies add up to a budget of approximately $20,000 for the month of Pesach. Commemorating the Rebbe's 111th birthday, Rabbi Chaim & Mendel made the trip to NY to visit the Ohel. While there, they "rolled in the dough" to personally bake the hand baked Shmurah matzah for the family.

We are looking forward to have Chanie's sister Elkie Wolf of Chicago along with her family join us for the holiday!

The clocks have changed, daylight is longer. Services will now be at 7:15 pm through the end of Pesach.Every time we lose this hour it takes a few days to gain it bank within the biological clock. The Rebbe taughtthat we must look at the clock, and ask ourselves, “Am I using my time properly, to fulfill my mission in this world?” In Hayom Yom he writes how time must be guarded. Days go by; as the Talmud says, "A day enters and a day departs". He brings a wonderful quote from the Alter Rebbe:

A summer day and a winter night are a year.

We went out with the clan to celebrate the bar mitzvah of Rabbi Chaim's nephew's bar mitzvah of Menachem Lazaroff in College Station.

A great time was at the 3rd Annual Houston Kosher Chili Cookoff! Thank you so much to our team! Chefs Randy Lewis, Terry Lewis, Michael Pasternak! Servers and revelers, Karen Nudelman, Aliyah Rudoff, Batami Baskin & Joshua Neuman!! Over seventy people wrapped teffilin at our booth, including 10 who wrapped for the first time!!

QUESTION: Rabbi...today one of my work friends asked me about this.."“God is punishing me for my sins by taking away my daughter,” Raizy’s father Yitzchak Silberstein said in Yiddish at the funeral. My friend asked me if we believe this, and I said I had never heard of sacrificing a loved one for our sins ( this is very Christian..ie son for their sins etc). Can you tell me what this man meant. It made us so sad. I told my friend this poor man is in the depths of despair and sadness, so maybe he did not realize what he said.

ANSWER: A tragic event it is hard to comment on in many ways. In a state of grief one just expresses that turmoil of whatever is in their mind. Punishment is a complex subject. It is inappropriate and insensitive for us to judge another's misfortune as a punishment for their misdeeds. It is ok for one to inspect themselves and see how they can improve in the wake of a misfortune. But, truthfully, one can never really know Hashem's ways.
