The Helicopter Gelt Drop was quite the stunt and off the hook! The event drew close to 1000 people at Sofa Park in Uptown Houston to watch a miraculous drop of Chanukah Chocolate Gelt from the sky! Mendel played live music, there was crafts for the kids, entertainment for adults and amazing coffee by Ultimate Coffee Brew! See pics here. Read JHV front page article here.

From the Gelt Drop the Jewish young professionals in their 20’s and 30’s partied in style with a Chanukah Party crawl on board upscale party bus! With bus destinations including the Helicopter Gelt Drop, Car Menorah Parade, Houston City Hall and the stunning rooftop of the Hanover Blvd Place

The Isiah Carey show, the Isian Factor Uncensored aired this past Monday night where Rabbi Chaim spoke about the History and traditions behind Jewish holiday of Hannukah. Watch it here.

A nice crowd showed for the Galleria menorah lighting on the Lone Star Menorah near Nordstroms.

Tuesday morning more fun was had at a special Chanukah edition of Mommy & Me for mothers and babies with Chanie!

Mazel tov Levi on his Bar mitzvah!  Last Shabbos Levi & Rabbi Chaim spent Shabbos in NY near the Rebbe's ohel. This Shabbos we will have a community bar mitzvah with a Shabbos kiddush in his honor.

3 PM HELICOPTER GELT DROP:

  • Congratulations Danielle Resh on winning the passenger seat on the Helicopter for the great Gelt Drop! Don't miss this awesome event!
  • Featured Entertainment: The event is free. There will be gifts, crafts, games, refreshments and drinks for sale. We will have live music by Mendel, crafts for the kids, an elaborate magic show, souvenir magnet photo booth and, after the gelt drops in the field beyond, whoever finds the silver coins among the gold ones - wins a prize! There will also be latkes, doughnuts and other snacks and drinks for sale including gourmet hot beverages available through Ultimate Coffee Brew.
  • Parking: The event will be in the same location as last year, at the Sofa Park at the corner of San Felipe and S. Post Oak Ln. (You can set your GPS to 1702 S. Post Oak Ln, Houston, TX 77056). The park is located WEST of Whole Foods / BLVD Place, and across the street from Four Leaf Towers. You may park your vehicle at BLVD Place using their Valet Services or in the BLVD Place parking garage 3rd level. Please do not park on the self parking surface lot of BLVD Place.

5 PM YJP FESTIBUS PARTY BUS & 8:30 PM ROOFTOP AFTERPARTY

  • The YJP Party Bus is a high class bus, with leather benches, bars, club sound & lighting and more. This is a mega limousine! Don't miss it!
  • The party bus will have food and drinks with great music and fun!
  • The passengers of the party bus are encouraged to witness the amazing helicopter gelt drop at 3 pm and then depart when its all over at 5 pm to join the mobile menorah parade that departs from Southwest Houston. The parade arrives at Houston City Hall for a menorah lighting with dignitaries etc. When that's done we will return to the departure location, where we will have an afterparty on the rooftop of Hanover BLVD Place, next door to Sofa Park, with latkes, doughtnuts, food, wine and more!
