As we are gearing up for the International Conference of Chabad Lubavitch Rabbis in November, it was interesting to read the highlighted quotes from this week's Presidential debate. You see, the Rebbe, wanted to be sure that the other half of Chabad leadership also have a conference of their own. In February, Chanie will join the women leaders of Chabad at her own International Conference of Chabad Lubavitch Rebbetzins. The Rebbe also insisted that the binders, Sefer Hashluchim, depicting the Chabad Houses and Rabbis around the world include the Rebbetzins and children who are part of the same spiritual army. Now, with that in mind think about the statistic recently shared by Larry King: "According to Forbes only 3% of CEOs are women. In the Federal Govt. only 14% are in leadership positions, and Hollywood only 5% of films are directed by women. One exception of absence of women in American leadership is Chabad. 50% of Chabad Institutions are directed by women".

Deep conversations were also had today regarding the role of women in Judaism as part of our Tanya classes... Never too late to join us for insight and inspiration every Thursday at noon or 8 pm!

We gathered around the computer and watched in awe as Felix Baumgartner broke records and made history. We captured some amazing shots of the live feed here. He did it! He crawled in to his space suit and jumped down to planet earth. He was scared of his space suit but he had a vision. You can too!

Young Professionals: Jewish Bar Trivia was a resounding success! Mazel tov to the winning team of "The Brew Masters"! Next two week's classes leading up to the election we will examine the Torah's perspective on the hot issues. Taxation with Representation and Illegal Immigrants & Amnesty.

With sadness we mourn the untimely passing of Chanie's aunt, Mrs. Dina Galperin, ob"m, in Israel, after a prolonged and serious illness at the age of 65.

This Shabbos Parshas Noach concludes the first real week after a month full of holidays. We now fully get to implement that inspiration for "Six days shall work be done, but, on the seventh day is a Shabbat of rest".

Unbelievably celebratory Sukkos & Simchas Torah was had with hundreds passing through Chabad of Uptown's doors!! It was wonderful to have Chanie's family joining us for the final holidays of joy!

Ron & Rivital Mart will be making a Pidyon Haben for their newborn son, Noah Moshe Mart. They invite the community to participate is this rare and sacred mitzvah and dinner this Sunday, Oct. 14 at 5 pm! Please let us know if you plan on joining so they may plan accordingly.

Expert Sofer is coming on Oct. 16-18 to check your tefillin & mezuzos.  Once again, Rabbi Faitel Lewin, a Sofer from Brooklyn, N.Y., will be available to check mezuzos and tefillin from Tuesday, Oct 16, 12:30 pm through Thursday, Oct 18, 5:00 pm. According to halacha, mezuzos and tefillin should be checked twice every seven years. Some have the custom to inspect them annually.

Young Pros: This Wednesday night class and social for young professionals at 8 pm will be "Jewish Bar Trivia"! Don't miss this!! 

Thursday Tanya classes are gong strong and you can join any time! Offered at two times at noon or 8 pm, there is absolutely every excuse to be inspired.
