Pittsburgh is Steel

Thursday, 1 November, 2018 - 9:10 pm

MItzvah for PittsburghShabbos is supposed to be a day of peace. Last Shabbos, it's peace was shattered to pieces. This has been a very sad week for the Jewish community, for Americans and for all loving people everywhere.

Pittsburgh is known as the Steel City.

People who attack the Jews fail to understand the very fabric we are made up of - We are unbreakable and indestructible. It's been tried on every corner of this planet and failed miserably - We are incredibly strong and always will be. We are steel. We are iron.

Not only don't we break, yet like the olive - the more it is crushed, the more oil it produces. The resilience of our nation when tested, shines forth powerfully.

The Jewish response has always been:
Where 1 Jew was knocked down, 5 Jews will stand.
Where 11 candles were extinguished, 100 more (Shabbat Candles)  will be lit.
Where one Jew was murdered, 10 more will be born.
Where one shul was shattered, 10 more will be strengthened.
Where one Minyan was emptied, 10 more will be filled.

They woke up a lion ..a sleeping lion. The  Jewish people’s response will be so powerful and united it will defeat every enemy and we will come out of this stronger than ever-

You shoot eleven we will build 11 thousand- am yisrael chai

We must  revive our Jews centers and  fill them with Jewish vitality and Jewish hope.  Pause and remember this for your entire life: "They can cut down all the flowers  in the world, yet they  can never stop the spring from coming "

You are the spring to make sure that that the melody of  these innocent lives will never ever be interrupted! Not only will we remember their  deaths, we will continue their lives, their values, their ideals..their davening... their Shabbos and Jewish homes.

  • Fight darkness with light, resolve to do a mitzvah in memory of the deceased and for a speedy recovery of the wounded.
  • Make the world a safer place, starting with mezuzos in your own home! Let me know if you would like to check or get a mezuzah!
  • #ShowUpforShabbat!  Even if you don't usually attend synagogue, please do so this upcoming Shabbat. Every shul in the world should be full to capacity.

I am a Jew and I am proud!
