bring a friend shabbat.jpgThe world is commemorating the first anniversary of the infamous terrorist attack in Mumbai, India in which 173 people were killed.

The terrorists struck the local Chabad House and killed the Chabad Rabbi and his wife along with four guests. They were murdered in cold blood because they were Jews.

This Friday, November 20th, worldwide Jews will stand in solidarity and renewed commitment to rebuild and enhance Jewish life.

Join us in creating the largest global Shabbat celebration ever.

  • Mommy & Me is going strong, and it is not too late to join! Mommys and Babies (3 mos - 2 yrs)meet every Tuesday from 9:30-10:30 am concluding on Chanukah with a special Chanukah program... Thanks Jackie for the great photos (to be uploaded soon)!
  • Rosh Chodesh Society has taken off! The inaugural class in honor of Rivky Holtzberg, hy"d was well attended and the ladies followed the class with a warm discussion and farbrengen. We look forward to having ladies gatherings monthly on Rosh Chodesh!  Thanks Chagit Croock for the yummy refreshments!
  • A special thanks as well to Ben Shamoolian of Houston Flowery for the beautiful Shabbat flowers that decorate our Chabad House each week!

the marathon is on, mommy & me this tuesday

If our father Avraham can do it at 99 years old, and go beyond his comfort zone to circumcise himself, surely we can do our part to walk the extra mile...

This weekend is the International Student Shabbaton ( and Rabbi Chaim will be leading the representation from UH and A&M for the weekend. But, no worries, Benjamin and Rivky Shlyapobersky will be joining Chanie for another spirited Uptown Shabbos. Come by and show them what Uptown is all about!

  • Wednesday night young adults and professional classes are going strong! Are you there?
  • Look out for our Uptown Chanukah programs! We will have Shabbos dinner on the first eve, Dec. 11, Chanukah Mommy & Me on Tuesday, Dec. 15, Menorah Chocolate Factory, Wed. eve, Dec. 16....

In other news....

  • Sunday before Chanukah is the dedication diner for Chabad Lubavitch Center on Dec. 6, Yud Tes Kislev. We hope you will join us....
  • That Tuesday, Dec. 8 in the evening will be Levi's Upshern, his first haircut, we hope you will join us for that as well!
  • This past Sunday, the triplet aggie boy had his bris! And the name..... drum role please..... Levi Yitzchok Lazaroff! That is right, now we got another one! :)
  • Next week, Rabbi Chaim hits the road again for the International Conference of Chabad Lubavitch Rabbis - always an inspiration. Of course, an amazing fill in will stand at the helm...
